Cotton scrim is 100% cotton and looks and feels like gauze. It's most commonly associated with the medical field, since it's used for surgical curtains, wipes, and scrubs, because it's lightweight, strong, absorbent, and doesn't attract lint. Cotton scrim is also used behind the scenes in theater and film productions for special effects, costumes, and set decorations. It has the ability to hide and show whatever is behind it so it looks nearly opaque until the set behind it is lit, making it see-through. Check out the video for more info!
